I had an interesting question from an international client whom has a company of 830 people. This call was a couple of weeks ago and she asked me a great question; “what is that leaders do that makes them who they are so easily?”
My answer to her was this:
Leaders don’t wait for someone to give direction, leaders pinpoint with certainty what the purpose and the outcome is going to be no matter what happens. They are people whom demand respect from others but not without giving respect first to those who are in the arena with them.  Leaders are people whom are always ready and willing to contribute and empower people with the right skills for the tasks in front of them. Leaders are people whom see the silver lining to every storm cloud and are willing to admit when they were wrong, but quick to praise the ones that are right. Leaders have followers that create a passion and drive in their team that only success will become inevitable.  Leaders will find ways to make people feel like the...

I have been asked many times if there is a golden key to being successful in a sales call. The answer is very simple and does not require intense training.
The answer is LISTEN TO WHAT YOU WERE ASKED FOR!
Stop upsetting the customer with up-sell techniques, just listen and deliver that product or service with to the best of your ability. Â Your customer satisfaction ratio will be much higher.
Car dealers are a great example.  A family comes in and asks for a nice economical cross over vehicle and already know the model they wish to buy.  And here comes the rockstar salesperson that is going to spend 2 hours teaching them how to upgrade to the big SUV.  Now the family agrees they can afford the SUV and they start wondering what is the best deal in that category, so they leave to go to other dealers and check all options available.  Then the family arrives at your competitor and asks to look at big SUV’s and what does that person do? They simply sell them for what they asked for.  Ther...
I’m sure you’ll agree that one of the most challenging parts of being a sales professional is turning a cold lead into you a life long customer.
I tell all of my clients that building relationships is key in sales. It needs to be your number one focus from the moment you meet your prospect to delivering an outstanding product or service that fulfills your client’s needs.
Most prospects are quick to turn their head away from you, and over the past 17 years I’ve studied human behavior and the way business is conducted. I’ve experience failure and stagnation, but also found HUGE success.
In building successful relationships with thousands of customers and clients, I learned the best ways to turn a cold lead into your best customer. That’s why today I am in the top section of the leaderboard amongst my colleagues that sell large agriculture equipment. And even as I continue to apply these techniques myself, I’ve also taught them to all of my clients so they can improve their sales perfo...
One time in the middle of my work day, I realized that life seemed out of balance. I was spending most of my time at the office and making excuses to my family that I couldn’t spend any time with them because my clients needed me more. I felt stuck between two rocks knowing that I needed to spend time with my family, yet concentrating on moving the sales forward with my clients so I could remain a top sales performer at my company and provide for my family. Time management seemed far out of reach with all of the responsibilities and tasks on my plate.
After years of coaching and mentoring other sales professional, I realized that we all struggle with time management. It’s not easy to prioritize and complete tasks in a way that makes you and everyone in your life happy – especially your boss, colleagues, clients, and family.
I decided to take initiative and study the best of the best time management techniques I could find. These techniques have helped me remain a top sales performer ...
People often come to me for help when they hit a dead end and they don’t know how to move forward. Many people, and maybe yourself, have difficulty identifying what path to take and change for the better. They don’t know how to view the world and their current circumstances in a way that can help them transition into the life they’ve always dreamed of living. I call this our MOW: “Model Of the World.” Is there a way to stop your life’s path on a specific date and realize you’re in need of change? The answer is yes, and that’s exactly what happened when John stepped into my office three years ago.
John was an interesting guy with many life experiences. He presented himself as an enthusiastic, hard-working father, husband, and sales manager. John had been in management for a handful of companies and succeeded very quickly in all of his endeavors. People respected him and he was commonly referred to as a guy that would help anyone. Nothing seemed to bother him on the surface except when ...
Do you ever pause to think, “Am I any good at sales? Is this even for me?” That’s the question I asked myself when I first got into sales more than 10 years ago. I struggled turning cold leads into customers, finding effective ways to sell and reaching my quotas. For years, I stayed stuck at the minimum earning potential and it was really bothersome. I knew I was capable of performing better, but I had no idea how to become a top sales performer.
Being a top sales performer means you get recognition from everyone in the company. The leaders in your company take note of your performance and consider you for raises, promotions, extra time off from work and leadership positions. In my mind, being a top sales performer rings more money in my pocket for me and my family to live the life we always dreamed of. We would get to live in a beautiful 5 bedroom house with all of our comforts, travel to resorts and exotic locations, and take as much time off as we wanted to spend quality time with ...
