We all have been there, frustrated because another day goes by and you still haven't done what you have set out to do. Â You beat yourself up and those around you because you keep talking about your goals, but you never take action and apply the must to the task. Â What I was taught and still implement to this day is the following:
Take out a piece of paper and put the outcome at the top of the page. Â List out the positives on the right side of the paper and the rewards that follow you completing the task. Â Then on the left side write out the negatives if you don't complete the task. Â It should be very easy to see why you would want to rip the left side of the sheet off and only follow the right side. Â Then I make a quick todo list and put times and dates beside them and go! Â Walk on the treadmill for 10 minutes and really focus on what you are going to do and how good it will feel to just get it done with.
Change your state, and change your story. Â Procrastination is often caused by f...
I had an interesting question from an international client whom has a company of 830 people. This call was a couple of weeks ago and she asked me a great question; “what is that leaders do that makes them who they are so easily?”
My answer to her was this:
Leaders don’t wait for someone to give direction, leaders pinpoint with certainty what the purpose and the outcome is going to be no matter what happens. They are people whom demand respect from others but not without giving respect first to those who are in the arena with them.  Leaders are people whom are always ready and willing to contribute and empower people with the right skills for the tasks in front of them. Leaders are people whom see the silver lining to every storm cloud and are willing to admit when they were wrong, but quick to praise the ones that are right. Leaders have followers that create a passion and drive in their team that only success will become inevitable.  Leaders will find ways to make people feel like the...

I have been asked many times if there is a golden key to being successful in a sales call. The answer is very simple and does not require intense training.
The answer is LISTEN TO WHAT YOU WERE ASKED FOR!
Stop upsetting the customer with up-sell techniques, just listen and deliver that product or service with to the best of your ability. Â Your customer satisfaction ratio will be much higher.
Car dealers are a great example.  A family comes in and asks for a nice economical cross over vehicle and already know the model they wish to buy.  And here comes the rockstar salesperson that is going to spend 2 hours teaching them how to upgrade to the big SUV.  Now the family agrees they can afford the SUV and they start wondering what is the best deal in that category, so they leave to go to other dealers and check all options available.  Then the family arrives at your competitor and asks to look at big SUV’s and what does that person do? They simply sell them for what they asked for.  Ther...
For many years I have noticed that people work extremely hard, and still are not satisfied with what they have accomplished.  What I have found to be very helpful for my clients is getting very detailed as to what they have experienced, both positive, and negative.  Some of these events may not seem to be a positive one but they may be adding benefits in other ways or lead to a better situation later on.  Take inventory of what you have done or experienced.  And ask yourself what not going through these events would have cost you?  Would you be where you are today without either gaining or losing events taking place.  Sometimes there are both good and bad, but depending on the point of view you have and the tone you use when telling yourself.
Let me know if you would like to get more of a detailed explanation!
I’m sure you’ll agree that one of the most challenging parts of being a sales professional is turning a cold lead into you a life long customer.
I tell all of my clients that building relationships is key in sales. It needs to be your number one focus from the moment you meet your prospect to delivering an outstanding product or service that fulfills your client’s needs.
Most prospects are quick to turn their head away from you, and over the past 17 years I’ve studied human behavior and the way business is conducted. I’ve experience failure and stagnation, but also found HUGE success.
In building successful relationships with thousands of customers and clients, I learned the best ways to turn a cold lead into your best customer. That’s why today I am in the top section of the leaderboard amongst my colleagues that sell large agriculture equipment. And even as I continue to apply these techniques myself, I’ve also taught them to all of my clients so they can improve their sales perfo...
